Launched in 2015 by Monty and Dan at the age of 17, Furniturebox is an expanding modern online furniture business dedicated to beautiful, quality and affordable products backed up with exceptional customer service.

Furniturebox, a rapidly growing furniture business, boasts a robust understanding of product profitability. Since 2021, Furniturebox and Infinity Nation have enjoyed a strong relationship, initially collaborating on data and audience analysis. In 2023, Furniturebox took their mature PPC account in-house, but by February 2024, they requested Infinity Nation’s expertise to troubleshoot issues in their Google Ads account caused by instability from a Google bug.

The Challenge: Implement a stable scaling plan

The account couldn’t invest efficiently, as the Furniturebox team were focused on the core Garden Furniture period, aiming to drive sales through Paid Search and support broader marketing activities. Infinity Nation needed to implement a stable scaling plan to help the account recover and build on previous strengths. 

 

Infinity Nation’s goals were to: 

  • Review and stabilise the Google Ads account
  • Improve efficiency and media spend targeting 
  • Support Furniturebox’s core Garden Furniture period sales
  • Align paid search with wider marketing activities 

 

With the instability of the Furniturebox Google Ads account, the primary challenge was building the account efficiency in terms of media spend and targeting, without the account entering a learning phase for too long – impacting overall opportunity to optimise, test and learn.  

Our Solution

Infinity Nation devised a four-week action plan to review and rebuild the Google Ads account efficiently. 

Week 1: 

  • Created shopping campaigns split by product groups to target the right audiences and allocate media spend appropriately. 
  • A/B tested trending products to monitor metrics like conversion rates and return on ad spend.

Week 2: 

  • Focused on Furniturebox’s promotions, particularly garden furniture campaigns. 
  • Reviewed legacy brand sale campaigns, drafted new ad copy, and created wish lists for new assets.

Week 3: 

  • Conducted a granular review of audience targeting to identify and eliminate cannibalisation. 
  • Assessed current bid strategies for optimisation.

Week 4: 

  • Analysed the initial A/B test results and refreshed ad copy based on performance insights.
